<p><b>The right way to do cardio - Introducing Intervals</b></p>
<p>Most of us have been taught that it in order to burn fat we need to do cardio at a certain pace which will bring our heart rate to a specific range called the &#8220;Fat Burning Zone&#8221;. This zone is where our body naturally uses the most fat as it&#8217;s energy source for any given moment. And it requires moderate cardio workouts to get there. Then, we were told we need to keep doing cardio and remain in &#8220;the zone&#8221; for at least 20 minutes to see any results. This is why we see people spend hours on cardio exercise machines.</p>
<p>However, what we weren&#8217;t told is that because the Fat Burning Zone is reached through medium intensity exercises, our body stops burning a high volume of calories almost immediately after we end each workout session. What we were also kept in the dark about is that if we did high intensity workouts, our body would&#8217;ve continued to burn a lot of fat during its recovery period which would&#8217;ve lasted for hours after we&#8217;ve taken our after workout shower. This means that although we were burning less fat <i>during the workout</i>, we ended up burning a lot more fat <i>afterwards</i>. This means that in order to use cardio to lose 10 lbs, this is much more effective.</p>
<p>This is where high intensity interval cardio workouts come into play. By doing high intensity workouts we push our body to burn calories long after we end the workout session. However, doing a high intensity cardio workout, like sprinting, is impossible for more than a few minutes at a time. That&#8217;s why we do intervals. We do a few minutes of high intensity exercises and then slow down to medium intensity for a few minutes to catch our breaths, and then we push ourselves again. Repeat this cycle a few times over and I guarantee you that you will end up sweating, huffing, and puffing. This is the way to do cardio to lose weight. This is how you&#8217;ll lose 10 pounds fast.</p>
<p>This is true for any cardio workout you do: running, cycling, elliptical machine, aerobic classes, spinning, etc.</p>
